    I hear that alot of LARGE trucking companies are doing hair follicle drug screaning. Does this include TMC?

    Yes TMC does follicle test along with lie detector, blood analysis and brain scan...but you should be fine...right?

    If you aren't a user, you have a CDL, it shouldn't matter what kind of test they have!
    If you are a user, please return your license. The road doesn't mix with drug use. Recreational or habitual.

    Wasn't looking for sarcasm. just honest truth. i am a 25 yr otr accident free driver. Its just that my 21 yr old son was interested in the position with TMC. he has some cleaning up to do and he is currently clean for the last mth. I know for a fact he will have to be clean for 3 mths to pass a hair test. So as far as I see it there is over 200,000 trucking positions still needing filled in this country. And if a person is willing to come clean with there passed weed issue to drive truck.... That person has my respect. Thank you for the input anyway.Be safe out there.

    3 months for head hair, has to be at least 1/2" to test. If the company's got the $$$ for the Cadillac of drug tests, it will be a good swath of lower leg hair giving them a +/-6 month record. Have documentation for any prescription painkillers in the last year.

    If you have to worry about what type of drug test a company uses for screening, you probably don't need to be driving trucks for a living.

    Been a driver for several years. Closing in on 1,000,000 safe miles, and have a clean PSP and MVR, too.

    No, it's drivers like him and myself who don't want drivers who use in this industry. IF your kid is dirty, and he doesn't pass a drug screen, he's done with any decent company before he even starts.

    Get involved in a fatal accident and see what happens.

    Well he's clean for a month now and he can pass a UA. So he can get on with most companies. JB Hunt, Schneider, CR England and a few more he won't due to hair follicle testing. He likes what he sees with TMC. I have informed him to just stay clean for 3 months and he can go anywhere. I don't want him to fail at a carrier from the get go. Sorry if I seem defensive but I don't see any reason for passing judgment on anyone that is making a career change. I agree we don't need alcholics or drug abusers on the road. But on the other hand we have them on welfare and in the unemployment lines and they don't have to pass anything other than being sober enough to make it to the mailbox to collect a check that the tax payers pay for.
