Ask for an update and make sure you get documentation of what they are telling you on the Qualcomm or email or something. Don't trust anything they tell you over the phone because it will end up their word against yours.

If you told them you wanted to turn in the truck over the phone then you need to "start over" and play the game again. If it they still ignore you then start climbing the ladder.

After you deliver the load, deadhead to the terminal and turn the truck in along with your paperwork. Don't answer the phone if they call you while you're on your way back.

Answer your phone and if you have to go through KY be ready to go to jail, Company can and will say the truck is stolen and you will go to jail till you see the judge. Been there done that of course they will drop all charges when you get a lawyer and request all qualicom messages

So what is your suggestion? Cower down until they're ready to bring him in? I would really like to hear your solution.
Windy told him right, the only thing I would have added was to be sure to top off the fuel tanks because they're going to turn off the fuel card when he sends in an MT call.

Oh, but he could go to jail. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Then I would go to jail. The lawyer wouldn't be needed to be released from jail, the lawyer would be to burn that company and get that dispatcher's job.

Enough of the fearmongering, back to the task at hand. I did it. Just like Windsmith recommended. Had a multi stop load from Iowa to Florida to Georgia to South Carolina. Stopped off in Tennessee and emptied my gear except for everything I need for orientation at my new company. 1 duffle, pillow and coat wrapped in the sleeping bag (there is a reason why I always tell company drivers to travel light).
Emptied out and went straight to my terminal. Turned the truck in to the shop, got it signed off, walked into the office with the permit book. Dispatcher looked surprised, "What are you doing here? Are you quitting?"
'Yes. Don't have time to talk, my cab is outside.' Walked right out the front door, got into a cab on a Thursday and started orientation at my new company that Monday. And yes, do ignore the phone calls.

That actually was my last bus ride. Bought my truck a year later. I'm one of those guys that love the job, but hate all the company driver stupidity...the 'company policies', idling percentage, fuel bonus bull crap, grown adults having to ask some kid half their age if they can go home (how degrading is that? That's like a grown man having to ask his toddler son if he can have sex with mommy), and that driver cam nonsense.

You guys need to learn to trust in your spine. You don't have to be a circus clown as a company driver. You don't have to do stupid pet tricks. And no, it doesn't matter if you're a rookie.

But Six, every company that I see is trying to pork me...what do I do?

You're the one that's aiming for a bottom feeder. Aim higher. If you wind up at a bottom feeder, it's your fault. I remember reading some thread where this kid was calling England a savvy company. That's like saying cow poop is art. Now he has his heart set on Swift. Guess they're savvy too. Why even respond? If someone wants to go roll in cow poop, let him go.

Sometimes, I'm not sure myself. Sometimes I wish that I could be a kid again, but since I can't, I will have an adult beverage. Salute.
