If you are a hot-head you may want to do something else. Otherwise always return equipment to a terminal.
-
Check out TDI (Truck Driver Institute). If you pay cash they'll pay for your hotel. I went to work for TMC Transportation out of school. Good money and home weekends.

I am not a hot head, nor was I a hot head back then. I was dealing with my kids being in the hospital and my (then) wife calling me all the time worrying about our kids dying. When I explained this to the dispatcher, he didn't care. He kept telling me that I would go home after the next run. Well my last drop was within 30 miles of my home, and he then told me he needed me to go to St. Louis (400 miles away) and he would "try" to get me home after the St. Louis run.
What would you have done? Your kids are in the hospital with a life threatening infection, and your wife is seriously stressed out .I chose my kids...and I don't regret it.Pmracing Thanks this. -
I would have turned down the St. Louis load and went home.

All I was saying is if you quit, turn your truck in at the terminal. Sometimes it's good to have a personal vehicle parked at the terminal.

WIth that story, you should name names of a dispatcher or company that cares so little for human life.

One way to avoid a lot of problems is to work for a good company.

I cant remember the name of the dispatcher because it was so long ago. However the company was a company out of Utah that hauls refrigerated units....if you cant figure it out...lol
I don't want to say the name of the company because I don't feel they are worth mentioning. -
Like I said, I want to go back, however I am trying to figure out my chances or the best way to get back into trucking. I am single and all my kids are 18 or older. I love to drive and want to get back on the road.
