10 years ago or more then don't tell.. I have met several drivers from Swift, CR England and others that do nothing but recover abandoned trucks from driver that quit and leave the trucks in truckstops or other places,,It is a big problem and well kept secret with trucking companies about abandoned trucks.
I did it back in 79 in Philadelphia,,was working for Branch Motor Express as a line haul driver, I would run 9-10 hrs terminal to terminal and the company would put drivers up in flea bag motes for their 8 hr break,,after 4 nights is run down motels I got the Philly,,told the dispatcher I would ot stay in the flea bag nasty motel they sent me to,,They told me that I had to stay there,,I got my suit case and went home,,

Just guessing I'd say .......you have to show the last 10 years employment, so make sure that trucking job was more than 10 years ago and don't show it. Next, start from scratch as though you had never driven........some companies require school.......some require 2 years experience.....some are desperate for a body in the truck and train or judge your driving skill themselves. There are as many deals as there are companies. You might also consider local or a class B license.....then parlay that into something better.

It's been so long I think you can start all over again and you did not abandon the truck a truck stop is a secure location abandoning the truck is leaving it on the side of a road and not telling anyone if you listen to some of the guys in here you will think truck drivers have never made a mistake and we all have PhDS we just do this cause Nasa is slow right now.
Gerald Mullenix and Ken Worth Thank this. -
I agree with Ken Worth go about it like it's your very first time in trucking and if it comes up later deal with it later but personally I think your in the clear. FYI driver managers still lie everytime they open their mouth and women still don't appreciate seeing their husband 2 days a month.
Gerald Mullenix Thanks this. -
THanks....I know that driver managers still lie....and I have no desire to be in a relationship....sorry ladies...lol.
My kids are grown and I want to get back on the road...I actually liked it and eventually wanted to be an Owner Operator. I was willing to go through the first year or two and learn the industry before signing a lease. Unfortunately I could not get my former dispatcher to understand my kids came first. -
Well good luck out there it can be rewarding if you put your time in keep a good record be safe and my advice is do not even concern yourself with how much you make because it's to unbelievable to comprehend just put 2 years in and go to a company that pays you fair
for your work.Gerald Mullenix Thanks this. -

dont ever mention leaving the truck. Your dac is clear after 7 years. You can get a free dac report once a year. Get one to make sure its not on there. If it is, hire rite will take it off (if its been 7 years)
Gerald Mullenix Thanks this. -
Hey Gerald just in case you've missed the recent threads, might want to read up on Western Express(distress) in case all you
want is for someone to get you back behind the wheel, just saying. -
Avoid Western Express like the plague
