I just hate being 18 minutes short, on any clock.
It seems such a waste for that little bit of time.

Yeah, sometimes elogs are a PITA. Would've made it on paper logs. Now I'll have to hold up just before the 35 E/W split into the city. No where else to stay south of there in the city. Upside is I'll cross the inner city at 4am when the traffic is a little lighter.

Stuck at Phoenix. We delivered about 2 miles away at noon, then headed here to the terminal to get my CPAP inverter installed. Rolled through the wash rack to knock some of the mud off of the truck, and the small stress crack on the windshield doubled in length. They'll get "a round toit" in the morning.

My boss sent us OTR but left us attached to the Target account. The planners here in PHX won't touch us, so we're stuck here until morning anyway...

I would have been the driver with the flashing red triangle . Then I'd be the driver hoping I wouldn't get the random log audit . And I would have been the driver sweating going past the coops for the next week .

Taking a 2 hour break in Avenal, CA. Hope that I am doing this split sleeper correct. Will find in 1 hour from now. The way that I understand. Drove 6 hours and took 8 sleeper in Ontario and let rush hour die town. Then drive another 4.5 hours and take a 2 hour break. Then can drive again for 6 hours. Now the system is saying that I am tracking late but called into ect and was told that the system does not understand a split. Also a message from CSR and also does not understand split. Received a pplan. Pick up or Telsa and deliver to Houston for Monday, if I can get there with all of the flooding. If not then Tuesday or if still real bad then t-call in Lancaster. That is the last thing I want do to. Lancaster and weekends.

The last thing I want to do is calculate a split sleeper, or do one.

I have a hard enough time with a strict 10 hour break. It's simply not enough time to cook dinner and relax before sleep time.
Cutting that into an 8/2 would drive me bonkers.

    And by the way...
    What is ECT?
I see it mentioned often, but I have no idea what you people are talking about. I just call my DM, or the backup terminal if they are off duty.

I'm in Ozark, AR at a Love's after picking up a nice heavy paper load not far from here.

I'm at a loss to describe a fellow Swift driver I came across along the way.
An O/O, judging by the truck.

Our first contact was as she pulled up on my bumper for several miles before she could pass me, in a hurry in a 55 zone. I was going 57.
I passed her in the next town because she caught a red light, then she gunned it and went by - again well over the speed limit.
I ended up getting to the shipper a minute before her but she cut in front of me in the inspection docks, without even checking in first.
She was sent to the shipping dock just in front of me so I followed her in.

I sat there for nearly 30 minutes as she tried to back into the dock.
She kept trying to blindside it in, and she never pulled up far enough to do it. She always ended up backing into the trailer in the next bay.

I finally got out and showed her that she just had to loop around a little to do it sight side, so she tried it.
She still couldn't get it right because she was turning too quickly and not lining up correctly.
She did finally dock with some more help.

She gets docked and heads in, only to come back several minutes later to chock her wheels and lower the landing gear - instructions which were given to us before.

When she is loaded she has a very hard time sliding her tandems because she is using too much force.
She tried several times, back and forward, but just could not apply the right clutch/peddle combo to do it correctly.
As I was leaving I saw her coming back in to scale it once again. (She was driving away before my loading began)

It wasn't a difficult dock to get in to. I did it in less than 5, as did every other driver I saw.
The loads were heavy paper rolls. 3 at the very front and 3 right over the tandems. Very easy to determine the weights. I was legal with my first try.

For all her rushing, she didn't get ahead at all.
And her O/O status can't take the place of real training and professionalism.

    HousTank Thanks this.

Moose , ECT is extended coverage team . Those are the ones working after the bosses leave if playing video games online is considered work .

I have a problem with 6 month drivers leasing when too many struggle with the basics as you described . The aggressive driving to get to the customer followed by the rush to the dock is indicative of poor trip planning skills . Being able to handle the business side of a lease is enough of a challenge without the added load of not knowing how to drive the truck and steer the trailer .

Here in Lathrop last night and awake to find my nice 1800 mile load cancelled. So now for pplan they are trying to make me a Safeway driver staying in CA or going to Klakamas and then the latest, Safeway to Sante Fe Springs, 340 miles and backed up with a heavy chemical load to Arvada, CO for Monday night. All of 1300 miles for 5 days, and they thought that they were being nice. My DM agrees with me, never another CA load.

    Nashville, TN at Love's.

I got to my delivery about an hour early, handed the yard dog my BOL and was directed to park in the only empty dock down at the end.
No mention of it, but I slid my tandems and lowered the landing gear anyway. Those big rolls of paper are rough on the trailer.
Less than 15 minutes to unload.
In the mean time, on the off chance I was back to Platinum, I sent a Mac 30 and got 3 load offers.
The Houston one was out because I didn't want to deal with all that flooding, so I took the best of the others.
I'll be heading to Columbus, OH tomorrow.

Anyone know if White Castle fries are any good?
I'm making sloppy joe's in the truck tonight and there is one nearby. I'd rather have fries than chips, any day, if they are decent fries.
