Well settlements came out and I had 3200 miles on the week for pay, this made the truck about $5200.00 for that week and after truck payment and insurance ect., my take home is about $2300.00 ( but I pay myself .36 a mile so my weekly pay is about $1,100 and the rest to savings)..
I am learning how inportian it is to have a load to run through the weekend, it could be the difference between a $800.00 week and a $1,500.00 dollar week). I also contacted ATBS this week and will start paying them $28.00 a week to do my book keeping and taxes..
I got a K Tag a few weeks ago, I am also thinking of ordering an I Pass / and Pre Pass for the truck.. It just easier to by pass these locations that to stop and pay. Also you get a small discount when pre paid for.

Made it to Texas with my wine load, that delivers tomorrow.. Between Def and Fuel it was right about $1040.00 to run it down here.. Company gets there $850 ish and that leaves a rough profit of about $1500 for 3 1/2 days work.. That will take care of this weeks Truck payment and leave a few bucks for me, the rest of this weeks runs will be all profit, minus fuel..
Made the run most of the way with JTrout, an O/O with Bruegner. He has been her for about three years, so he has been a wealth of information. Again I can not stress how friendly a lot of my fellow drivers are.
I started today with about 6 hours, and will recap 11 tomorrow. I really think it's time to go home, been out 4 weeks now, I have ran out of clothes to wear and smell like a hobo.. I will try to get a load home tomorrow and take the rest of the week of, I hope..
I have been hearing some positive things about Bruegner taking care of drivers, when they have break downs. I know it is frustrating to breake down, but also am glad to hear multiple drivers talk about Aaron Beggs helping them out.
My driver advocate is becoming a dispatcher, so I should be getting a new advocate assigned to me soon..
Most things becoming routine here. Will keep praying for success.Joetro Thanks this. -
One small funny thing!! If you drive by our yard in Wichita and see a lot of pumpking colored trailers, we have not been bought out, we are just renting space to Schnider until the Cosco is done.. Lol / had me worried for a minute when I turned into the yard.. Thought I might of been part of the sni choose plan.. Hehe

From everything I've seen Schneider Choice has much better rates and much more consistent.
Rather have 65% of $3 than 72% of $2 -
Bigger Money
Schneider solo and team Tanker owner-operators bring home bigger settlements with our exceptional lease compensation packages. You can average up to $225,000 in annual revenue with the following mileage rate and fuel surcharge:
Mileage Rate $1.155
Fuel Surcharge $0.238**Formulated from DOE
Total Mileage $1.393
And you only get 66% of that 1.155 ? Again I'll stick with my 70-72% of $1.70 to $2.40 avg I've seen here..
rad111 Thanks this. -
Check out the Schneider forums, there's a ton of drivers on the Choice program pulling dry vans doing very well for themselves. On Choice they dispatch themselves from Schneiders load board. Most drivers average $1.60-$1.70 and that's every mile the truck turns loaded and empty and that's to the truck. Also there are a few guys that run the NE and make $4 a mile on 200 mile loads. Not a bad days pay for running only 200 miles wouldn't you say? Especially since Schneider pays for all the tolls.
Whatever program you quoted I agree with you, that sucks! -
"Rather have 65% of $3 than 72% of $2"
"drivers average $1.60-$1.70 and that's every mile the truck turns"
So is it $3.00 a mile or is it $160-$1.70? Because when you figure 66% of $1.60-$1.70, it's a big diffeance from $3.00..
I had a buddy who made almost $7,000 on a load to the N.W., them loads do pay good. That's the way to roll it in for the week.. Well anyway enough about Schnider, I don't work for them, this is about my experience here so I better get back to work blogging my day ins and outs.. Hehe!!
By the way RoadCall where do you drive? Hope your turning and burning some good loads.. -
Well guys and gals, got lucky and made an extra $100.00 on the cheap beer load out of Ft. Worth. I know a lot of guys complain about that load, say it's cheap (and I agree), but!! $600 dollar Flat Fee, take %30 for the company ($180.00) that leaves $420.00 dollars.. It is a 360 mile run, and I calculate my fuel at 5.5 and the lives fuel price was $2.61 a gal soooo ,, $171.60 in fuel.. That leaves a profit of $248.49 for about 7 to 8 hours of work.. It's not great, but as soon as I hit the yard, I dropped that trailer and grabbed a trailer for KC Kansas area.. Another small load but will make a few hundred.. So in the end I'll pull about $500.00 dollars in profit for 1 days work..
So what I'm saying, is it does pay to take them loads vs. sitting in Ft. Worth for a day or 2 hopping for that load that pays a few more cents..
Any who the good news is, in a few minutes this load is off my back and I'm headed home for a few days.. Been a long 5 weeks!! Yes I have been getting lots of slack from my family and co-workers for staying out this long.. But man, when your chasing the money and it's falling in your lap it's hard to stop.. Thank you Lord for the friends and family in my life.. Well unless anyone has questions, I guess I'll see you all next week, when it's time to turn and burn some more!!
