    The truck has an active code for low coolant. As soon as the active code goes inactive the truck starts smoking black and loses power. Any ideas? When the light is on truck runs fine.

    I am guessing another wire is shorted to the level signal wire and the change in voltage due to coolant level change is causing a voltage short to another circuit.

    Found a rubbed through wire and a partially open EGR Valve.
