OK, here it is. I know i have been stupid for not protecting my record, but I didnt know the full ramifications of not watching my MVR closely. I have two tickets for the last 3 years, but that doesnt make me unhirable. What does make companies leery of me is this. I got a ticket in 2003 in Connecticutt for driving in the "high dollar" lane. Got another one in 2004 in North Carolina for the same thing. I had a Georgia CDL and some clerk at the DMV keyed the NC ticket twice. He/she key in "Improper/Erratic Lane Change" - 3 points and "Failure to Keep in Proper Lane" - 0 points. And they keyed in "Driving Wrong Side" - 3 points on the ticket from Connecticut. Thats three posts for two tickets. And I didnt do anything erratic. I was driving safely, but I was in the restricted lane on both occasions. I tried to remedy this myself, but the people I asked at the GA DMV said I had to get NC and CT to correct it. NC and CT says GA has to do it. I dont know what to do about that other than hire an attorney, but I dont have that kind of money! So, heres my question. Does anyone know of a company that will hire me with that on my record? I have been looking and getting shot down left and right even though the tickets are over 3 years old.

Getting a lawyer would probably be the best thing. But, if you are desperate to work and can't afford a lawyer right now, then you might try "moving" to another state (hint: Florida) and see if that might clean up your record a little.

But at any rate, there are alot of companies that would hire you with all that on your record.

i may pm you when i can get the info.

Ok, I have a Texas license and I am getting ready to move to Florida next week. If I get a Florida license with my endorsements I can probably shake off some if not all of my tickets? I have an Improper Turn, follow too closely, and failure to obey hwy sign.

Your CDL is reciprocal if you have a ticket in one state it will not go away because you transfer your license. It may take awhile to show up but it will not go away if it was on a CDL. That was the reason for going to the CDL. we used to carry 2 or 3 licenses to get around that thing but now its all in one data base it want do any good to move.

Let's go back to square one and start over.Georgia can't change what North Carolina or Connecticut put in their data base.It may be incorrect information but I doubt they take the time to confirm this. It' up to you or a lawyer. What you should have done was to research that statute recorded on the summons was correct under state law for the violation.I would say it would fall under improper lane usage but a CMV might fall into a different catagory with more severe penalties for the same violation as opposed to a car with a boat trailer.I assumed you plead guilty to the tickets and paid the fine but in the future make real sure you know what you'll pleading guilty to and then decide whether to fight or not.If you haven't kept a copy of the original summons and what the courts disposition was you'll need to contact both CT. and N.C.You won't find that information at the DMV all though they might be able to direct you to the proper agency to get a copy.Once you have copies of both and determine that the violation and conviction are different than what shows on your Georgia record ,you might be able to have the information corrected by both N.C. and CT. and sent to Georgia. The court in each state should be able to supply you with the paper work you need.

2.NCCOURTS.ORG for the phone or the court where the violation took place

    4.Court system?Try cga.ct.gov

To me your tickets don't amount to much.Running in the left lane. You'll find work. What I posted above does seem like a lot of headaches to follow through with but that's why lawyers make the big money. With a little patience and time you might do it yourself. Most important, like I said earlier, know what you are pleading guilty to.Simple violation?Maybe not.

Why were you in the restricted lane anyway?

Carriers determine their own hiring criteria usually based on the mandates of their insurance carrier. If you drive for an owner/operator you must still meet that carriers hiring criteria.
