We should all be like the Blue Angles. In that, we should ALL KNOW what the other guy is going to do. If the Blue Angels flew, like some truckers drive, there just wouldn't be any more jets in the sky.

I think what we have here is a failure to communicate to those that feel "entitled" to the big bucks after a very short "learning curve". These newbies/rookies, see and hear the rhetoric about big bucks, from some of the drivers that embellish the truth regarding pay.

Sure, I can believe the o/o for instance, that says he "grossed" $200,000 last year.

But when was the last time, an o/o gave us his NET pay, after all expenses?

    Same with company drivers.

YES indeed, many DO MAKE just under the $100,000 mark, or just at it.

BUT how many years did it take to get there, and how much experience is required for such a job?

All the newbies/rookies want to hear is how quickly they can get that kind of money, forsaking safety in the process.

I really HATE to say it this way, but I will.

And that is, as my sig says, 4 more years (maybe less) and I'm out, ya'll have to continue to deal with it, not me never more.

Just heard on the XM trucking channel that Schneider raised pay by .05 CPM. Might have just been for tankers though , not sure.
    Anyone have any info?

Yeah, it was the bulk side. Dryvan got a .01-.02 raise. They sent me an email about it. I sent them a reply with what I make now and if they want me back, to call and we'll negotiate.

    Not a peep since

Or maybe it's to bribe drivers to stay after they get done installing driver facing cameras in 6000 of their trucks.

Ya have to wonder what they are taking. I have never seen a big otr company give a "raise" where they didn't cut something in another area or raise the bar so high that maximum mileage pay was difficult to achieve.

My company, albeit we are local, just gave sizable raises earlier this month. We deliver auto parts, 100% touch freight. I also load my own truck. 55k last year, should be close to 60k this year, 1st calendar year in 2016 with the raises between 61-63k. It depends how much extra work I do, but I only average 43-46 hours a week.

My advice, stay away from otr. Find regional or local work.
