Once they get it out supposedly they have to send pictures to Eaton and wait for a reply before they can do anything.![]()

From the way you explained things, Eaton shouldn't have anything to do with it. They really should go after the Carlisle dealer for their shabby work. The fuel leak/spray is what got into the clutch to make it start slipping. Eaton isn't going to take responsibility for Carlisle's mistake. Just hope the owner of the dealer you're at isn't the owner of the one in Carlisle. Sounds like they are trying to find someone else to pay for their screw up. GOOD LUCK with this. And I would get SFI involved with this, too.mickimause and TennMan Thank this.

All I know is the truck drove fine up until I brought it to Carlisle Kenworth.
After I left there I had fuel spraying everywhere (from within the Engine area causing smoke, fuel at the back of my cab up to the roof.. all the way to the trailer dolly handle there was fuel) and also my clutch started acting up to where when I give it a good amount of acceleration the clutch couldn't hold onto the gear.
Supposedly they couldn't find where the leak was coming from so they changed a bunch of fuel lines.
I found out the shop I'm at is a sister shop of the Carlisle one BUT they did admit that Carlisle screwed something up with my fuel system.
They don't think the fuel problem and the clutch is related even though they both happened at the same time.
I asked WTF would cause a clutch to go bad at 30k miles? They basically said poo poo happens or it can be caused by a driver that doesn't know how to drive.
Supposedly for warranty work with Eaton they have to send pictures of everything to Eaton and wait to get approved.
SFI pretty much passed the buck but suggested I contract Kenworth of Wisconsin where they get the trucks and voice my opinion. I dunno how that's supposed to help anything.
All I know is I'll be sitting in this roach motel in the middle of nowhere for a long time waiting.... -
Rent a car and go home return when truck is ready.
freightwipper Thanks this. -
Probably be cheaper and also get time at home too.
That's what I'd do -
Oh my God Freightwipper. All because of a little amber light.
My opinion....... (not playing Monday morning quarterback) If the amber light went out, I would have left it alone. Sometimes the fault monitoring system is less reliable than the equipment it is monitoring. If the truck was running well and the light went out, leave it alone. I try to keep their hands off my truck unless it's absolutely necessary.
Good luck man. Hoping the best.mickimause, TennMan and freightwipper Thank this. -
Yeah I thought about that.
Waiting till Monday to get a timeline of how long everything will take.
I'm 20 miles from a car rental = $50 taxi each way. $100
Week of a car rental around $200
600 miles from home so I'd be looking at $100 in gas including both ways
It would cost about about the same just to stay in roach motel for a week.
So eh idk
What I'd like to do is jump in another truck and do some work somehow.
I wonder if Schneider would rent me another truck for a week just so i'm not sitting forever. -
lol yup.
Well I went in for a B service and for APU service and I thought why not tell them about it just to play it safe and make sure everything is okay.
Look how that turned out, I got the royal screw lol.
-
30 k and needs service on apu?
-
I had some work done at KW in Carlisle too.
They told me no charge due to all being covered by warranty..so I signed and heading down the road.
30 days later they hit me with a $249 bill for the "F"ing wingman system the couldn't find anything wrong with.
The system is still screwed up..so it's not fine how about that.
Had to take it on the chin..SFI wouldn't reimburse me due to the policy of:
When you call in for service and ok them to work on it..you get charged whatever they want to hit you with.
If the dealer doesn't find anything wrong with your truck..or it's something out of the normal..you are charged.
Otherwise warranty will kick in.
I've been lucky..no issues other than the wingman radar BS thing..god I hate that thing.
