Both clean, I asked the inspector for a CVSA sticker after today's Level 1, he said he 'ran out of them' Wonder what the inspector would have said if I told him I 'ran out' of anything related to my truck.

I realize a sticker does not preclude re-examination but since I drive a 97 Topkick with a 14k trailer, I am just a box of Jelly Donuts driving down the road...

He didn't run out of them. He probably didn't want to walk around his car and get one. They never give them up easy.

Or keep a copy of the inspection report with you ... If you get another inspection soon just tell the officer about previous inspection and no stickers given then show the proof ... He will be able to verify in the system ... I've gotten a pass this way before ...

Here in Montana they give you a card with their name for comments and such. If you got one of those then call in and tell them the BS you were told.

I was thinking of a call to the NYSDOT. I take pride in running a clean operation and spend a lot of $$$ and time wrenching to make it all happen.

Couple years back i had a Level I in Louisiana and passed. Nexy day I had just went through McCalister, Ok and DOT pulled me over for a Level II. I told and showed him where I had passed a Level I the day before. He said that was good, I should be able to pass this one too.

It was on 84 West bound at the rest area after Maybrook. The inspectors were sitting at a picnic table watching the trucks go by until they saw me and jumped up from the table...oh 97 Topkick bet that guy dosen't have CDL-A, HUT Permit, logs, new rotors, new calipers, new turbo, new exaust system, new brake lines, shocks, power steering lines, charged brake battery for the brake away system proper registrations and inspections so on and so forth. The guy I bought the truck from used it to haul his RV to Florida. He bosted about not having to stop at Truck Instections and had a 'Not for Hire' sticker made up for the truck. Looking back, I should have noted that as a huge Red Flag...
