they probably had 5 year warranty's. Schneider can lock in their truck costs at about 0.10/mile selling them this way and have nice, new trucks to keep their drivers happy.

    DUNE-T Thanks this.

That's a lot of money for a stripped down fleet spec truck with 500,000 miles even if it has good old pre-EGR 12.7L Detroit. I remember not so long ago SNI trucks with 800,000-1,000,000 miles were $10,000-$15,000 basically a dime a dozen. Now these were EGR trucks but still.... I just could never buy something that had been beat on by the likes of newbies at SNI, TMC, Boyd Brothers, etc, etc. And to pay a premium for something from a mega fleet strikes me as crazy. How many miles is SNI going between OCI's now 50,000 or so???? Are used trucks, or used pre-EGR trucks really commanding such premiums? Schneider is probably selling them for about what it cost them to purchase these units new, very smart business, if they can get their price.

The thing is they are asking $74,000 when they are probably worth $50,000. Some clown will offer $60,000. Schneider will accept his offer and both parties will walk away happy.

    truckon and MJ1657 Thank this.

They sound more in the ball park of $15,000 to $40,000 .. Too much as they are to me. Gonna need $$$ for paint and repairs soon after..

If they will move for $70,000 they will simple as that. Regardless what any of us thinks these trucks are worth just like rates with freight same supply and demand kind of thing. People will sometimes pay what we might think rediculous prices but that is the market. Fuel is still relatively cheap, big factor in why many decide to become o/o, and it's not difficult at all to get into this business. If trucks are flying off the lots SNI might not be as crazy as we think. I recall shopping for a new trailer last year. Dealers basically give you a price and laugh if you try to haggle down because everyone else would pay asking price. Ordering new trailers the wait was 6 months or longer because of demand. Anyone that had new stock was selling it quickly too.
