Head Up Display (HUD)?

    Most new trucks do have a HUD, the problem is most drivers use the dash as a catch all for their road atlas, BOL, carton of cigarettes and assorted other trash that it gets covered up and they forget they have it.

    WesternEmpire which trucks already have a HUD? Do you have a picture of one?

    Federal Regs don't allow you to have anything obstructing driver view through the windshield, within the wiper arc of travel. So that limits the usefulness of a HUD.

    Great point tscottme. I can't imagine they would consider a HUD an obstruction of view but I will ask FMCSA.

    Give it time, I would not be surprised if the HUD will be amended as not an obstruction.
