So, if we break this all down to reality, one out of 17 Big trucks are runnin' dirty ---
    Hmmmmmmmm

So, out of 3,790 Big trucks, 3,566 of 'em are runnin' clean --- which would be roughly 6 dirty Big trucks per 100 Big trucks.
That looks like about 6% of the Big trucks are runnin' dirty.
    Hmmmmmmmm

Now I see why it's so important to demand those no-idle laws. Only around 95% of the Big trucks run clean, so it's obvious they need to shut 'em ALL down 'till more comply. :biggrin_25526:

Anyideas how to convince your co. to go out and buy all new trucks so we are exempt from the idle law? Lets see.... 1500 trucks at around $100,00 a pop.... hmmm. Shouldnt be too hard!

Unfortunately this idea is not going to work. It MIGHT work if the anti idle laws were the only issues of concern, however, there are the new emissions laws to be concerned with. Some of these laws go into effect in 2010, and some go into effect 2014, and to buy new trucks at this point simply would not be cost effective, because we don't quite know what the new laws are going to be.

CA wants trucks to have it set in the computer that the trk will shut down after 5 min at idle. What I want to know is if they have passed that yet and how will that work if you dont run CA or are in CA for a few days.
I just dont see how they could pass a law that will work in all the rest of the country.

Wonder how long it'll take before they find people dead from heat stroke. And for what? So they can take the equivalent of a whole paycheck because somebody wanted to be comfortable?

My husband said the same thing that if you have pets you're aloud to idle. He heard it when we had to take a load to CA. Ok that's it. I wonder if Schwartzneggar will give us the answer lol.
