I was talking to a recruiter at PAM (not going to name drop) and I was told about a "dedicated run" that would have me home every week (I live along I-35 in Texas). Can anyone back this up, or is it just smoke? Seems a little too good to be true. I know that have terminals in Laredo and Irving so it kinda makes sense that I could stop by the house on a 10 hour break or possibly a reset if I'm going back a forth on I-35. Maybe that's what they were meaning?

You live in a good spot for being a truck driver.

A lot of dedicated accounts will have you working during the week then you get off on Friday for a 34 hour break. My home is in Dallas near my company's terminal and I usually get Fridays and Saturdays off then go back to work on Sunday morning.

There's several dedicated runs that run along I-35 up and down Texas. Will you be going there as a company driver or owner/op?

Former driver and their dedicated routes are pretty good, pay is just not A-1. That 35 corridor is a good place to be for dedicated routes.

Dedicated are the way to go for sure.Team dedicated runs are great too given you get a long with with that co-driver. The problem with many, especially larger companies is that 'dedicated' to them means going to any one of say 20 customers and back to any of a certain customer. They know most newer drivers will only do dedicateds and they try to bs drivers using that. Tell them you want true dedicated that means same places every time. I will not work anything but dedicated runs.Another thing about dedicated is you can make usually more than guys/gals who are out regional or 48 state and you get home everyday or however your route runs. I would check Ryder if I were you and also smaller companies down your way that cater to the auto industry.

Last message I saw from PAM over Quallcomm was a dedicated DFW to Laredo dedicated, but I guess you would have to talk to PAM automotive people about how much it pays. If you want a lot of miles, inquire about Lansing to Laredo dedicated (3000+ miles/wk) and you'll be going thru DFW area twice a week.

When I was there they made me take a 2 cent pay cut "since you get home more often" for dedicated route.

I talked to a recruiter today about a dedicated run in my area that starts out at .37cpm. Gotta call back tomorrow and verify. Sounds too good to be true. Lol.
