Hey everyone, Found this site a few days ago and it has been a great read for someone getting ready to get into the industry, probably one of the more helpful forums in general Ive come across.
I am getting ready to take my tests for my permits(gen knowledge, airbrakes, combo) on monday, just did my physical, i am way healthier than i thought funny enough, and I am enrolling in the CDL program at Sheridan Tech here in broward county Fl. Looking around it seems to have a pretty good reputation in Fl, Ill be starting 1 July if i get all the other stuff done.
I had a question though, I am sitting here studying, im taking the practice tests for my endorsements on this site, the times 50 question ones, im passing them all with 90%+ on average, how close are they do the actual written test? Are they a good indicator of what to know comparably? Of course im still studying but i was curious about that
Hey, look, another newbie

You're good to go with the practice tests. If you're doing 90% on here then no problem at the DMV.
Start researching companies now and submit applications during the first week of CDL school. This gives you plenty of time to look over the job offers and then start work the day you graduate.sprayed150 Thanks this. -
hey I start on june 27th Sheridan tech you should do ok.

i took my Gen Knowledge, Airbrakes, and Combo today. passed all 3. took me literally 10min per test. i thought it would be harder. kind of wish i would have just done tanker and hazmat tests at the same time. might go back next week and just do it for the permits
-
yea I was going to do my hazmat but the permit is only good for 30 days so ill just wait until I get my cdl, hey make sure you get your 7 year driving record while your there.

Yeah forgot that. Faxing it to them tomorrow. I registered for the class today. They gave me a fancy little parking pass. I feel so freaking special. I start July 1st

yeah, you must have night classes I wonder can I buy a book off one of the guys that's leaving I don't really want to spend money on a brand new book.

I sent a few early apps out this morning with my work history and all that. Saying I would be starting classes in 2 weeks etc. Got a call from Schneider a few min ago to let me know they would be contacting me throughout the course of my school time
