Sygma Driver Trainee

Maybe u r right,but when i was there they needed drivers so bad,i was jumping from truck to truck just to cover drivers if they run out of hours.it still beats jb hunt or swift pay and even if he runs two trips a week he'll be spending his time off at home not at a truck stop in the middle of nowhere.

 

Because you keep sounding like its a guarantee your body will be shot. Ill be 50 this year and I still breakdown freight, prior to driving truck I worked EMS for 24 years and spent my time lifting people, which are never good lifts. If you take care of your body and lift and move properly your odds of 'breakdown' are greatly reduced. It all depends on how you approach the job. I happen to love my employer and job and the positive aspects of being home multiple days per week instead of sitting around waiting all the time.

 

They probably have a guarantee u make w/e u work 7days or 0 for new guys. I have a buddy at Mclane started few month back. And first yr he is guarantee 1k wk weather he works or not aslong as he is available everyday to work. And if he work 5-6dats n was suppost to make say $1500 he makes the $1500

 

Anyone have any information on sygma out of Columbus Ohio. Going to apply there for delivery driver any info on pay, insurance home time. Any thing will be useful. Thanks!

 

Wrong. I've been with Sygma for 3 months and always take home 1600-1700 hundred. My bonuses kick in this month so thats even more money. Of course they did tell me that us st louis guys make more than some of the other locations but it is consistent for sure. Memorial Day week was a little light. I had a few small loads only 27k and 29k lbs but I made up for it with holiday pay and force out pay for going out on a night I was scheduled off. Sometimes you can squeeze 400 bucks out of them on top of your route pay if they really need your help on your night off. And I can't believe people say its hard work. yea maybe for two weeks if you're not used to the labor but every night gets easier and it gets you in shape, not destroys your body. I give them 110% because they were the only company to give me a chance after having not driven since 2009 and only having 5 months experience during that time. I will give them a few years then possibly go back over the road someday.

 

you can have that joke of a job you deliver food on a two wheeler down a ramp thats a joke of a job why would you want to do that if you can sit all day and make that or more. you guys arent even making much one of my friends works for mclane in chicago ive seen his checks they are always worse than mine. and yes it destroys your body i havent seen any guys who worked there in their 50's in up who could actually do that anymore. then when you do relize that food service is a joke youll probably go pull cans which is another joke where you know you screwed up in life

 

I totaly agree with you,back in 2004 sygma put me thru driving school and gave me a nice steady paycheck.and not once or twice i got called in my night off and got a sweet bonus.its a good stepping stone for somebody with a fresh cdl.

 

i don't know your friend but he sounds he could be lazy. I know Mclane has that if you are available for work n there is no work u make atleast 1k a week. And u said you makes 9-15 a week that's a pretty big difference. With Mclane once u get a route u should make pretty much the same thing every week since u go to the same stores all the time. Mclane here in Orlando avg driver makes 86k n top drivers 100+ that's working 4days a week.. How many days are you on the road for your paycheck? Yea it's physical work but everything in life has its trade offs. Like being OTR your gone from family n friends. And actually at the Mclane I work there are another guys in there 50s that are still working n getting around just fine. Yesterday I seen a guy come in that was transferring from Albany has been a driver at Mclane 29yrs

 

Im 32 yrs old. yea let me sit on my ### all day and become a fat sweaty ####### away from my 1 year old daughter who needs me around. I enjoyed being on the road when I didn't have a family but things are different now. Im not afraid of hard work.
