Recently got my CDL permit and my DOT physical done and have narrowed my two choices to Swift and Millis. Would like to know everyone's opinion on which to choose. I stay in the Greensboro NC area

Millis....I got my start with them and would highly recommend them to anyone...even with the cameras in truck. They will train you right and run you...apply yourself, learn how to work their system of freight to your advantage and you will make money. Your in a good area for them to get you home when you want. Best of luck.

I enjoyed Millis. Got home when needed, made good money and drove well maintained equipment. Problems were handled professionally and I felt like they did listen. They know what they are doing and do it well. Sure there were things that irked me, but you have to look at the big picture and accept it.

I was OTR and considered regional, but the money wasn't what I needed.

    Won't say who I work for now...sorry.

If you can afford it a much much much better option would be the DCCC course in mocksville.

You'd have some of the best training in the state at 380hrs / 8 wks and more importantly options. Much better options than those 2.

But if you have target fixation on those 2 Millis is probably the better option. They run a lot of beer out of Eden home time shouldn't be an issue they can get you close.

I went there 4 years ago. Outstanding outfit and experienced instructors. Plenty of seat and range time. Real training not just a cram enough to pass the test course. You'll be far more prepared to get on a trainers truck. Plus, they have smaller more local contacts in addition to the usual suspects.

I went with Epes there in Greensboro fresh out of DCCC. Good training company. Moved up to a much better gig after 3 years there running out of advance now.

1st year I did mid 40's will do 65-70k at year 4 now. Home every weekend the whole 4 years. That's what having choices and options can do. Don't settle for company sponsored slavery unless you just have to.
