I have been driving truck for about 6 months and I'm not happy with my current company. I just got my cdl in march and started driving as a lowboy driver right away. Before that I was a grain truck driver in N.D. I'm lookingfor a good company to work for not just pay but I want to find a place that has good benefits and treats their employees like they should be. I need to be home at least every other weekend. Anyone out there have any suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated.

It will help if you tell us where you live and what kind of freight you wanna haul. If you want reefer and are in ND, Magnum out of Fargo would be a good choice based on their blog.

I live in iowa but will might be going to oklahoma. Freight wise I'm not to picky, knowing I don't have the most experience, but I was hoping for drop and hook or running flat deck.

In OK try FreyMiller, in Iowa, Hirshbach, ask for Nancy DeLance, nice lady. Both are reefer outfits, but highly regarded. If the economy tanks people still need to eat. I considered both of them, but decided to take a break from reefer.

CG, just reread your post, if you need 2 B home every other weekend, reefer might not be your best option. Try Melton TMC or Boyd Brothers flatbed. Or try dryvan. Maybe Crete. Good luck.

You may want to take a look at the Melton board if you haven't already done so. There are also numerous Melton drivers on the Road Life group on Facebook. Primarily flatbed drivers in that group.

HIRSCHBACH is highly regarded by who? The are the worst trucking company i ever drove for in my 20 years of driving a truck. Bunch. Of liars, cheats and thieves. Bottom feeder company.
