dealing with being away from wife and kid

    I got my license through the co I work for now so I have 2 years experience with tanker and hazmat

    Depending on where you live, there's lots of OTR tanker jobs. That's what I did for a few years; coast to coast.

    man I can't believe he was only making 400 a week I sure hope they not giving me the run around. They told me I would make 1000 a week

    I hope you're right! He was OTR. Best advice I can give is to have a backup plan. It's strange, with many companies some drivers make over a grand a week and some $500 or less.
    Like with Werner, some of those drivers make over a grand a week and some resort to shoplifting Ramen Noodles just to eat.

    They told me a lot of things that ended up being a crock. Of course, to make money you need a truck. They told me giving me a truck was not a priority. So needless to say I didn't work there very long. I hope it works out differently for you my friend!

    My youngest is now 7. She's like a magnet when I come home. It's MUCH easier when they're younger, well, easier on them.

    Being in the Army I know how it feels to be away from your family for long periods of time its hard but you can make the the best of it just like any situation

    Really not a good idea to go otr when you have a small child at home in my humble opinion, unless its your only option.
