You need to have actual solo driving experience under your belt before jumping ship. Only driving while in training, doesn't qualify as experience at any company. So stay there as a company driver n try to stick it out solo for at least 6mos then leave if you want. But stay and get your solo experience first before jumping ship.

former Werner here; to be honest your best bet is to finish your training. Tell the O/O you'll be glad to work for him after you're done! Ok? are you listening?
-
That's a big fat stinky load of horse dung. Plenty of companies will hire guys with little or no experience.
-
Yeah they'll hire with little or no experience if they haven't already gone to another company for training. Jumping ship in training and looking for another company to train you because you were hoping for greener pastures is a dumb move and most companies will steer clear of that.
-
I agree with the idea of finishing training. It does look funny to others when you've left in the middle, if it were me doing the hiring then I'd think that the op couldn't make it there.
However, once your training and any debt to Werner are taken care of...well, as hoth2o stated there's plenty of companies that'd be looking to hire a new driver. -
I was with wernerfor 18 months... it us not a bad place to get your feet wet and getsome ti e and experience in...
I would not... again... NOT... drive for the O/O leased on to werner... your limit your options... such as switching accounts... which I did often to grab up the sign on bonuses as well as get more exprience.. I intermodal... tbe menards flatbed. Then Dollar general... collected an additional $2,500 sign on for intermodal.. then $3,500 for menards and Dollar Gen...
Then after 18 months switched to Netops and applied for local gigs... -
Oh... and about becoming a trainer... if you are a good, safe productive driver and want to properly train new driver... you will not make any extra money.. and may dven make less training cause of it slowing you down... and not worth the headaches, drama and hassle
