All right. I have never posted a political reply before on any forum, however, I've about had it with people not seeing the real problem in todays fuel market. Let me give a little history taken from the "Energy Information Administration".

Fuel prices in June of 1995 were $1.20/gas and $1.12/diesel. In June of 2005 prices were $2.10/gas and $2.23/diesel. Fuel prices jumped $.90/gas and $1.11/diesel in those 8 years.

Now look at fuel prices since 2005. Gas today is at $4.04 a gal. and Diesel is at $4.78 Gal. That is a rise of $1.96/gas and $2.55/diesel in just the last 3 years. All you have to do is follow who is in control of congress during the time periods shown to see where the problem is.

Quit blaming Bush for todays fuel crises. The president has very little control of a congress that has obstructed his agenda at every turn for the last 8 years.

Just listen to what was said in hearings and on the hill today. How much sense does it make to ask foriegn suppliers we are dependent on to produce more oil when our congress refuses to drill domestically. One parties solution is to just tax the oil companies. Their profit margin is 5% the cost of a gallen of fuel. Taxes on that same gallen is at least 13% and more in the state of Washington where I live.

People, get your heads out of your kiesters and hear the music when you vote this fall.

Yes Bush being blamed for every thing is just such an easy way out
Your right he has little power to change things
And I wouldn't want any president who did have ultimate power
Look what hitler did with that power

Whats funny is many will say because he was governor of Texas he must be filling his pockets with oil money
Fact every detail of his life is a open book and its not true

Peanut: Free ride? No!!! Tough to pass an agenda, especially concering domestic oil drilling, when there are a couple Liberal Republican north east Senators voting with the minority party most often.

on the low side drilling in ANWR would suppily the U.S for 3 months and on the the high side it wold suppily us for 1.8 years, and would bring down the price of gas somewhere from 1 to 5 cents per gallon...and furthermore not 1 drop of oil would hit the market for 10 years and in the U.S we use 500 million barrels of oil a year the oil companys want to drill in ANWR and profit by puttin that oil on THE OPEN WORLD MARKET tthe problem is that from 33% to 50% of the price of oil these days is due to people who trade in oil futures.....even the Saudis are now saying that the price of oil is too high...IMAGINE THAT

    is it worth it?

For those of you that blame the president, how did he raise the price of oil? The real power is held on Capitol Hill. It's time to write your congress critters and stop tossing the blame in the wrong direction. They're the ones that make the laws.
