Is anyone running out of the Taylor, PA ramp? I'm looking to get into running out of there. Any information is helpful.

I was there once with JB. JB actually pulled out of there because the trains were so late all the time. It's kinda a tiny mess. But really I enjoyed it there. I love the smaller rails. My first time there, not knowing whats going on, I was in and out in 10 minutes.

Does anyone know of companies in this area that have home daily out of that yard in Taylor? I literally live 5 minutes away from it.

I was up that way yesterday with a drop n hook. I didn't see any other container trucks around that yard and there wasn't any activity that I could see going on in the yard itself. That might be a bad indication of them being slow.

I would hang out around the gate for a few days to collect names off the sides of the trucks.

    Dodgeman Thanks this.

Yeah I don't think you can make a living off that yard. You could easily get enough local work out of Harrisburg's yards though. Check out the container haulers visiting the warehouses in Pittston. Most of that freight comes from Harrisburg.

The companies that I see repeatedly in Harrisburg are Hub, Transnoble, Land, Rose, occasionally MWG and a few JB Hunt o/o's and the one based out of Baltimore that starts with an F.. Ferrogios or something like that.

From talking with a few other drivers from other companies, they all pay around the same and we all go to the same places..mostly. Some companies require E-logs and some don't but if you're local to the yard that shouldn't be an issue.

After doing this for 1.5 months and being very observant on how things operate, I don't see why one couldn't get their own authority and pick their own loads and cut out a few of the middle men. :)
