Anybody work for black horse carriers? I recently applied with them in allentown pa. Any information would be appreciated. Is the pay good? What kind of trucks do they run? I heard they have all automatics. Is this a good company to work for or should I look elsewhere. I'm currently otr but looking to get off the road.

I know they are the company trucks for Aldi stores, not a common carrier. They are owned by the family that owns Aldi stores, but are not part of the stores. They deliver to their stores from the Aldi distribution centers. They back haul product from factories to their distribution center. Hard to get in.

Hi Slow Roll, Black Horse is pretty big in Wisconsin, seems they've had a lot of crashes lately, but I agree with Bobble, they are kind of on the upper end of the heap. They are ALWAYS looking for drivers, but so is everyone else. I didn't know that, about Aldi. I thought they were more of a common carrier, but Aldi is big and I don't think you could go wrong there. Good luck.

I've heard different things about them, some guys say it's an awesome company to work for and others I've talked to said that the company is very picky and doesn't tolerate any mistakes made by drivers. So my guess is the truth is some where in between the two. A few years back they were considered one of the best paying companies in chicago but if they are only paying 18.50 an hour here then they are wayyyy behind the pack (although typically the hourly rate in chicago is higher than it is elsewhere) tbh OT after 40 isnt uncommon at all here and a lot of companies pay it after 8. They do have some pretty nice equipment though it seems.
