I had a felony sealed a few years ago. I mentioned this to the lady at school, and she said i should still reveal it.
She said something about i might get put on a high clearence load and it would show up then.
My lawyer said only time i reveal it is if im going into the medical, educational, law or entering a port in the state of florida.
It is a drug felony, it is over 10 yrs old and i have revealed it on a few apps so far. I havent heard anything back from those companies.
Should i continue to reveal it or keep my mouth shut like my lawyer said.

If it is sealed, then shut up as your lawyer says. the chances of you getting a job with a high clearance are slim to none. Unless you are applying for James Bond's job. Then tell that biotch at the school to transfer over to the custodian's job, where she won't be seen or heard.
crunchy Thanks this. -
Unless they run a deep background check. Don't put it down.

I wouldn't put it on a job application. I will tell you this , though. Some companies deliver onto military installations and depending upon which one you're attempting to enter and the base security level , it may cause you to be turned away.
I have a buddy with a felony a conviction and he can't get onto any post. He has to wait outside while his wife goes in any conducts business , then she picks him back upon exit.
Elgin Air Force Base in Florida, and SeaTac in Bremerton Washington will definitely turn you away.
Just something to consider. You might wanna ask some drivers if they ever go to the bases, or deliver to high security prisons , or other government installations.crunchy Thanks this. -
I've delivered to jails and military bases. Mine aren't sealed. Some people give the excuses listed above as reasons not to hire you. Doesn't mean you won't find a good job.
If it's sealed don't mention it. It's sealed so they don't see it, why show them what they can't seecrunchy and jammer910Z Thank this. -
So your lawyer tells you how to handle a legal situation, but you're going to ask on a truckers forum for a second opinion?
Joetro, crunchy, passingthru69 and 3 others Thank this. -

Keep your mouth shut. What are they going to do, put you in jail.....NOT

I don't get this either. If you pay for advice, take it.
As for the seal record, it isn't if a real background check is done. YOU would not believe the amount of info one can get if it is done right and many are done right.
