Because with most every trucking company it's about putting meat in the seat, and of course money. They mostly don't really give a rats but about the driver.

It's all about pacing yourself and reading traffic conditions. Only a hot-headed, or short-sighted driver would grab 5 gears to "advance a little bit".

I drive for miles and miles in stop and go traffic with minimal gear changes. And even when I am changing gears, I effortlessly float gear changes up or down. Shifting is a pleasure because even after all these years I still enjoy being a truck DRIVER.

What's next... All that steering is too much trouble for ya?

Oh, and they're not automatics. Eatons pile of crap is an automated manual transmission plagued with computer issues, shifting issues, electrical issues, and let's not forget the almighty x-y issues.

My DT12 is doing great, thank you. I've driven manuals all my life. I even learn how to drive in a Dodge pick-up with a 3 on the tree.
Been driving the DT 12 since Oct., love it, don't miss the stick at all. I truly believe the DT12 is safer to operate than a manual. It also reduces stress. Call me crazy but that is my honest opinion.

Ok. Enjoy it. I paid the $ for school to learn manual. My girlfriend and sister can drive autos or automated manuals

Funny, didn't have to go to school to learn how to shift. How you doing with that?
