According to recent QC message "No health concerns at Gary OC"
I'm guessing whoever's typing that message has never been to "that location"

Yes they are but the driver can only see so far into the tank from the dome opening. ..all tank that are washed come with a wash slip that driver gets from front of trl showing trl washed....

Good question..from my past experience hauling tanks, when you pick up the tank from tank wash, they leave the dome lids open after they wash them...now I'm curious as to whether it sitting there the odor seeped out or someone just flat out catch it or didn't care...you can bet there's going to be some new procedures coming down the pike with bulk..I'm guessing..

I highly doubt they are going to dump Qualawash LOL. They also use Calumet tank wash as well as Kankakee and one or two in Joliet. Whatever the case it was a "minor" spill. They said in the message that access was closed off but driver services was just manually monitoring the gates and letting everyone in and out. No one was allowed in the main building but express service was still operating. I left out of there around 1330.

what kind of chemical was it? they are flushed out and the valves are usually left open by the tank wash when they drop it back on the lot. i don't see how anything could of been in there.

It probably was just water but the boot nazi safety manager at Gary probably had a coronary and flipped out unnecessarily.
