Brush your teeth. Comb your hair. SHAVE. Clean clothing... and I don't mean jogging pants and flip flops, either... nor do I pajamas.

You are correct. It's more than a shower.
    It's about human decency.

Working for a trucking company that hauled bulk cement and a few flatbed loads of sack cement back in the mid 70’s one driver asked our boss, “Can I wear my Bermuda shorts and cut off blue jeans to work?”

I was quite happy that the boss man said, “NO!”

As for me I was shocked that anyone would ask such a question.

Its amazing to this OldHasBeen the clothes many of todays truck drivers will wear.

When it's that time of the week I brush what's left of my teeth and shave my head, then I get a shower. I put my partial dentures in a glass to soak in cleaning solution while I'm in the shower. In the shower I have a facial cleanser, shampoo and a body wash. I've got Irish ancestry so have really ####ty skin and need to use lots of product. When I get out of the shower I put on my deodorant and apply a nice moisturizer all over. I finish that with a generous dousing of sandalwood talc powder or in a pinch some regular baby powder. Finally I apply some beard oil to my epic beard and use Q-tips to clean out my ears. I don't have to worry about my fingernails because I bite those.

Once a year in the spring, I will stop by a creek or river and strip off all my clothes and throw them on an anthill so the ants will pick off all the lice and other critters. Then I jump on in the water and use sand from the bottom to give it a good scrubbing.
    Good until next April.

My shower bag is something else. Body wash, shower poof, two razors, a sonicare tooth brush, toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, shaving gel, hair gel, Cologne, body spray, deodorant, mouth wash, shoes, towels, it goes on and on. And on the days I can't get a shower, more body spray, deodorant, Cologne, mouthwash, toothbrush and electric razor.

Because I'm a hypochondriac, I carry hand sanitizer and my own hand soap as well. Hygiene is super important. I'm sure we don't live as slobs at home, no need to do it on the road.

Thought I was the only one who had a shower bag like that. I carry all of my cosmetics, my hair clippers, hand mirror for cutting my hair(crew cut), shower shoes plus I use my own towels and carry an extra towel in case where ever I am showering for the day doesn't have any. Like the Ohio Turnpike Plazas, for instance. Have to have one to stand on.

My bag is heavy. lol I was using those leather bags with all the pockets you can get at truck stops for 20 bucks or so. But after a month or so the straps keep breaking. But the Sapp Bros in Peru, IL can canvas type duffel bags...24 and 30 inch.... that work great.

I have to shower every day. There is the day now and then it just doesn't happen. In middle of nowhere or whatever. I have those baby/adult wipes plus always carry 4 gallons of water. More than once I've stripped down to my boxers and stood outside the truck and bird bathed it. lol I've been told I go overboard but I like being clean and keep my truck same way.

Yeah. But you take pride in yourself and your appearance. Nothing wrong with that at all! Now they're gonna call us metrosexuals or something crazy. Lol
