Yes have seen & heard the pileup on i80 in Wyoming. The snow was coming down thick, visibility was barely 300', which should be a sign to drivers to slow down, right? If you can't see what's ahead of you there's no amount of money that should make a driver keep speeding down the roads as if the sun is shining.

Actually the swift driver's problem who got stuck on the ice
may have been arrogance. Many a driver will not admit to having gotten stuck or making a mistake. It starts out long before becoming a trucker, back when a man won't admit he is lost & keeps driving in circles. At least the Werner driver called for help to get a tow. -
Jokes on them, my credit cards are maxed out and there's no cash in my wallet.

Common sense. I know it's a quality most don't seem to possess anymore but that is main thing, IMO. Use common sense. You aren't driving a darn car so don't act like you are in one. So many drivers drive like they can stop on a dime. And bad thing is, it is what they are taught by people who haven't been in a truck but a few months. It just keeps compounding.
It's not difficult to be safe out on the roads every day. -
Can't use what you ain't got. Common sense ain't so common any more
