Does Schneider offer cdl traing ? and will they hire out of Michigan?

Jacksonville Florida is a long ways away from naples and i don;t have access to a address there unlike Grand Rapids Michigan where i have friends and family

My buddy says Michigan isn't much better than Florida.

 

There are other companies that hire in Florida, just don't expect to be home very often.

 

Spoke with Schnieder yesterday and they told me get a Michigan CDL and they will train me for 19 days and cut me loose. They told me they don.t care where or how i got the CDL as long as I can show them a Michigan CDL I am good to work in Mi

So I think Michigan it will be.

I spoke with Roadmaster out of Tampa and they said for 300 they will test me and supply a truck.

Or sign up for their 3 week course and Schneider will reimburse it.

Kinda thinking in November now. Sitting on a pad all day in South Florida in August- October would be Brutal.

 

things must of changed with schneider. a couple years ago when i had just got my shiney new CDL i sent them an app, they called back in a day or so. The recruiter asked about my schooling, it wasnt long enough. she said it had to be a minimum of 160hours..

There always freight in and out of Michigan.
Somehow I usually end up there a couple times a month.
There's good paying pallet loads up there.

 

I think they hire most all places but Florida is terrible to get started for a job with a low of companies.
The further south you are in Florida the more difficult it is.
I grew up in South Florida, I moved for the very fact trucking jobs suck there.

 

But the bikinis are nice......
