My name is Tina Beals and my husband drives for Truck Movers. He has been there for a little over 3 years. They are like any other trucking company, they have their ups and downs but are basically a good company to work for.

Yes, they can be a good company to work for, IF they would stop lying to the drivers and treating them like crap. They say you are an "independent contractor", yet when you tell them you want to go this way, they say we don"t have anything going there and send you the other way. When you get to the yard, you find loads going where you asked and they say oh, we don't know where they are going until they are decked, acting like the drivers are stupid.

The dispatchers, here, like many other places, lie constantly to avoid accountability. Many drivers call Drew, Pinocchio. Every time he speaks his nose gets longer. Knocked a small plane out of the sky when he looked up once.

The recruiters will do anything to get you to sign up, except to tell you what you will have to spend to be an "independent contractor" with them. Omitting things like what you have to pay to be trained, tools that are required, escrow cost, permit fees.

As I said, it can be a good place to work, but a lot has to change. Policies have to make sense. Pay needs to increase. And "independent contractors" need to be allowed to be independent.

If you are looking for a company that doesn't lie to you, then you are in the wrong profession. Every trucking company lies to you. When my husband started working for Truck Movers he had done his homework and knew about the escrow, tools and training fees. As far as not going the direction you want to go, every trucking company we ever worked for did the same thing. If they find out you have a reason to go a certain direction they send you somewhere else because they are afraid you will spend too much time there before going back out. But, there again my husband has not had a problem with that either. As far as paying 20 cents a mile for training, if you are an independent contractor , who do you expect to pay it? Truck Movers won't pay it because you are an independent contractor. As far as pay increases, take a look at the complete industry. I don't know of any trucking company that has given truck drivers a raise in over 30 years. So if you are judging Truck Movers by these things then someone didn't do their homework before getting the job. Also if you think there is a company out there that doesn't lie to you then you need to get into a different profession. I am not just going by what I see happens with my husband either, I was a driver for 12 years before I had to quit do to health problems (NOT a result of driving).

Can you give me 1 good reason why any "good" company would feel it needs to lie to their drivers. Those that are truthful never have a need to advertise because drivers seldom leave there. With Truckmovers its just gotten to be such a common thing you know a lie is coming when they answer the phone. That's why so many of the good drivers have quit and gone to other places. Even many of the Tigers have left Macungie. You could hire in there today and be #3 in seniority.
