Making an Emergency 911 Call

    I saw something really bad happen yesterday while driving, I was not sure what to do! A car was sitting crooked along the side of the road, when I passed I could clearly see a man in the passenger seat viciously punching the hell out of the lady driver, right in her face. She was trying to protect her face with her hands but it looked really bad. I never use my phone while I'm driving a commercial vehicle, In fact it was in my bag on the jump seat, I couldn't even reach it without getting out of my seat belt. Anyway, I waited until I could safely pull over somewhere and then I called and reported it. (about 5 minuets later) I told a couple people about it, they said I did the right thing, but I'm not sure I did. I thought about blowing the air horn, but that might have caused him to beat her worse or even kill her, I don't know what happened but the dispatcher said they were sending officers. Today when I drove the same route, I noticed more of a Police presence.

    What would you have done?

    After I finished my game of candy crush. I would of pulled over. Put that puppy in reverse of course after getting out and looking. Honked the horn 3 times. Got to the scene of the beat down. Put out triangles. Grabbed my selfie stick and asked the gentleman if he wouldn't mind being on my you tube channel.

    You did the right thing, but for me - I woulda said to hell with not using a phone while driving (provided it could be done safely and I woulda had bluetooth).

    Sometimes rules have to be broken to help others. For me, that's one of those times.


    No excuse for touching a lady aggressively much less beating the #### out of her. If it woulda happened anywhere else, I'd probably gone over and kicked his ###! My brother was one of those dirtbags that used to wail on his girl and I can't stand people like that!

    Okay... Rant over....

    Back to scheduled programming...............

    For the most part, it's a waste of time. Even for the police. If they arrested him, she would be the one to bail him out. And they would leave the jail arm in arm, with an extravagant display of public affection.

    Until the time comes where a woman wants out, and gets out, you're wasting your time. Sorry.

    You would most likely have made it worse if you tried to intervene. I would have personally called as soon as I saw it happen but I wouldn't have stopped. I tried to stop a domestic dispute once, and was stabbed in the cheek by a screwdriver for my efforts.

    I use a Bluetooth ear piece. So I would have called immediately.
    But your situation, you did the right thing.
    TripleSix this time may have been the last straw for her or him. Don't know who was doing the abusing. Assumptions!

    You did the right thing. I would like to thinkI would stop, grab my can of mace and proceed to make him cry.. but as someone already said, it probably would have made tthings worse.
