Just wondering if anyone has any connections or numbers of managers I could get in contact with at the Port Orange location in FL. I've been applying to this place for about 1 1/2 years now with no luck. My driving record is spotless, I've been with Pepsi for 2 years now so I'm not afraid to work. If anyone can help that would be great, just leave me a pm. Thanks Josh

Have you tried other food companies with their own fleet of trucks, or other LTL trucking companies?

Yea I have, have had interviews with Saia, Sysco and QCD. Saia pretty much offered the job to me but didn't really like what I heard so I passed. Sysco I would have to drive almost 80 miles one way, they have a drop yard about 20 minutes from where I live but they said they wouldn't know when a spot would open.

I had a choice between Saia and U.S. Foods. I picked US Foods. Wish I went with Saia. Either way I'm in LTL now. Longevity in Foodservice is 50/50 due to getting injured. Don't have to stay long with Saia if it didn't work out cause other LTL's will snag you up. Once your in LTL your a shoe in anywhere LTL as long as you keep your record clean.

You may be having hard time gettin them or gettin an answer--due to Sysco aquiring US Foods back in late 2013--most/many of both locations have been VERY leary of hiring etc...knowing therre is alot of duplicity in both organizations and at some point--the new larger corp--is going to consolidate close locations..so only the places seriously hurting for people have been putting them on..and if you look at fla w/5 us foods--along w/7 actual syscos+4sygma's and 4-5freshpoints--then add buckhead beef--and you have alot of redundancy in the state--not to mention--the couple of both--just across the borders of Ga and Al.....
If the sale goes through--(and it is still an IF considering a Federal Judge in Washington just ruled this week in the FTC favor to block it-)-There is no question there are going to be consolidations and job cuts....so something to think about--not to mention if/when it does happen--Sysco will be assuming over 8 BILLION dollars in US Foods debt

Food service is highly profitable cause everyone gotta eat. They never layoff even in 2008. If it was freight it be a different story.
