If it's using that much coolant, it's going somewhere it shouldn't be. For instance, a cracked block or blown head gasket. Have you checked your oil recently?

Is it smoking when pulling a hill? I had similar problem. Using coolant. Turned out the coolant was going into dpf filter

I bet it's the EGR cooler. And the bad part is that will most likely have damaged your DPF. I drove a 2011 Volvo with an ISX that suffered the same fate. Leaky EGR cooler and busted up DPF.

Have you had any regeneration issues? Regensburg not completing and constantly going on?
