Looking for a decent but affordable paint job for my 98 379 in the dallas/fort worth, TX area.

I have no idea what something like this should cost or what to expect....never painted a big truck.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Toby

a lot of money, in 98Peterbilt were painted with Imron with a clear cost too,,
I had a 98 Pete made and spec'd it with Imorn 5000 with out the clear coat.
Be carefull painting a truck is a lot different than a car,,you will get what you pay for ..

I'm interested in what you get quoted.
Even if you did it yourself I'd guess paint and materials would go $500 at least, just for the "economy" line.
    Let us know, please.

by "expensive" do you mean $3K, $5K, $10K?

I just wanna go back with the original color. Nothing fancy.

My peterbilt body shop quoted me 3000 to paint a sleeper, already off the truck and in great shape. I spent probably 700 on good but not the best paint, probably 2 full days and ended up with a okay but not great looking sleeper

I just did a little research on plasti dip. If taken care of it says that it's good for 2-3 years.

I would be it will cost you $6K or more for a decent paint job,,
If you are going for it, you will save a lot of money if you remove things like clearance lights, grab handles,,and do all the sanding and prep work you can do, Check with the paint shop about what you can do so all they do is the spray painting. If you are going to spend the money do it right
