Turned my lease truck in last month. Paying off the lease truck was an option, not a goal. I didn't go into L/P for the truck. I wanted to go a different route and had something I wanted to learn/experience. Wasn't gonna happen as a company driver so a walk away lease with a 48 state carrier suited me just fine. As for lost equity, my truck payments are about $1000 a month less than my lease payment was. I can make up any real equity I lost in about 6 months. If my leased truck had a 13 spd I likely would have just taken a loan and purchased it. Thats the part of the L/P I don't understand, why some drivers actually go to the end of the lease. I know a Team at JCT with a 2014 Cascadia with under 400k miles and its payoff was $72k when I last chatted with them. That truck is worth about 20-30k more than it would take to pay it off... BUY IT!

Thanks for the video. That looks about as easy as using a Qualcomm really. And it sure would be nice to know what your whole week was going to look like as opposed to taking it one day at a time!

Im going to do some more research into this, do you mind if I get back with you later with some more questions?

    sure..

go through all these Schneider threads. There's tons of info there.
I have my own thread in that section as well documenting my journey.
There's lots and lots to learn and I myself am still learning more everyday.

    Yes.

I don't cheerlead too much because I hate the haters....krap, that makes me a hater.

SNI choice is a good way to go (I went a different way).

I don't really meet the criteria for the question(s) you have inquired.. I have only recently started my lease and know that at the current moment I feel free and alive.

Unlike most drivers, I am not lasting in an attempt to buy the truck, I am leasing to learn a busyness and what is needed to be successful in this business..

To me truck driving is one of the easiest jobs in the world. We get to fill our boy hood imaginations of driving large trucks down the road. Driving through the great country and seeing the wonders of God also fulfills me spiritually as a person. The days challenges leave me filling rewarded and accomplished, this brings peace to my very being..

I love the fact that you are researching what will fulfill what u seek! Without questions there can be no answers, without answers you can not start your Journey.. I hope u find what fits you, and what will feed you hunger, because without that drive you will not have peace of mind.

Again I'm just some schmuck who just started a lease, and I don't have years of experience, and my even fail (who knows), but I am a happy schmuck.. Like a horse let lose into the wild!!

    Happy Trucking!!

SNI Choice, ATS, Risinger (put Captain Zoom in search box), Quality Carriers, Cardinal Logistics, Bruenger, A and A Express, PGT, Equity, Sammons, Maverick IC, these are all lease purchase options with threads here, where the good seems to outweigh the bad. From reading through them and talking with Lease Operators in them it seems to me those who fail all have some things in common:

    1. Failure to run the their business as a business .

    2. The expectation of making much more money than a good co. driver.

    3. An inability to get out of the Co. driver mentality. (miles, miles, miles...)

    4. They go in it for the wrong reasons: unreasonable hometime, too much emphasis on bling for the truck, not enough capital reserves, no idea of how to run their business, no knowledge (or the desire to inform themselves) about their trucks (what equipment is appropriate for what they want to accomplish) OR about trucking (freight lanes, industry patterns, taxes, insurance, in short ... operational concerns, etc...)

    5. A complete inability to ask for, digest and implement advice from more experienced operators.

I'm not an experienced driver (2 1/2 years) or an experienced operator (6 months). In fact I DONT CURRENTLY AND HAVE NEVER LEASED. But it seems to me, strictly from reading this forum and talking to all kinds of Lease Operators that LEASING is NOT inherently bad, there are bad, good and better lease contracts out there. But, by far, MOST of those leasing are DRIVERS in leased trucks NOT LEASE OPERATORS! Hence the absurd failure rate.

Most, if not all of the questions you've asked are answered in various threads, use the search function to find them as most of the good ones ARE NOT on the Lease Purchase section for the reasons stated above by others. Use it and read, A LOT!!! and then go ahead and draw your own conclusions!

    GOOD LUCK!!!

Idk why Ppl scared of leasing just look at it as you renting a house or paying a mortgage.or leasing a car. What the difference. Let me kno whats the different. Doing those things are stressing and if you could do those you could do a lease.
