Volvo offers a bumper to bumper with emissions for 36months that'll cover all major (eng, rears, trans, emissions) and many minor components(like HVAC).
Base warranty is 1 year, the upgraded additional 2 years is about $6-8K(model dependant), well worth the piece of mind and expense control.
Turn the truck every 3 yrs with the warranty and forget about the rest.

    whoopNride Thanks this.

And what about the week or more that it's sitting at Volvo? Who pays for that?

The only new truck I'll consider is a glider. They come with a warranty but you'll most likely never need it

You can't ask anyone to eat that other than yourself. #### happens, plan for it.

It doesn't happen if you don't drink the kool aid in the first place. I plan for it with the truck in the sig.

Non egr. Last of the good engines built in 02. Could still get them in 03 model trucks when you ordered new.

No MFG pays downtime, doesn't matter if it's a glider or not.
If you want someone to pay, look into specialty insurance but cost/benefit would be a stretch.

So why does everyone think that because it's a newer model that every time it goes to the shop that it's gonna be there for a week or longer?

Gliders are nice trucks but they break down too.
