In that case you may have to upgrade your machine. You'll breeze right through with a printout. Don't know what the doc will say if you can't provide one.

Yea GreenMonster it's looking that way. Also apperently I wouldn't be ablet to take my dog on the truck with me after school and mentor. I am a single man with my Jack Russell and she is my life. I used to drive near 20 years ag. Times have sure changed.
-
Some companies allow pets...others don't. If the dog is important, make some phone calls and find a carrier who will be OK with it.
DannyinAZ Thanks this. -
I would just tell the truth. They will probably find out when your medical insurance goes thru.

I worked (briefly) at Stevens. The company doctor is a total freak about ordering sleep studies ($1000+) and making people get CPAP machines ($2000+). Stevens puts the money up front and take $25.00 per week each out of your check, plus 18% interest, until they are paid off. They discourage you from using your spouse's insurance. I'm sure the company doctor is getting a kickback on the sleep studies and for every CPAP machine he "sells" for the sleep clinic.
Having said that, they forced me to undergo the sleep study and get a CPAP. And I have to admit, it really helped me. I got better sleep and it all but eliminated the daytime sleepiness I was having a problem with.
Bring your CPAP machine. They are easy to use on the road. Depending on how old or new your machine is, it will have a little chip in it that records usage. Stevens requires that you use it at least 5 hours per day. They have a computer that reads read the chip to make sure you are in compliance.
My machine is a Phillips "Respironics" model. The chip is behind a plastic 'door' in the back. Just take the machine into the clinic during your physical and they will be able to see if it has a chip and if so, they can read it. -
I was diagnosed with severe OSA last year and got my machine finally this year in March after a second sleep study for titration, showing 0 events. I've been using it for 3 months every night, but I only am able to prove hours of use.
Now at my physical today, I was told I need a daytime sleep/nap study called Multiple Sleep Latency Test. They don't do that at my approved sleep lab. Should I get a second opinion?? -
I've not heard of that test, but you probably need a new machine that records hours and efficiency. Mine does that and the report was all our facility and doctor wanted.CaliforniaJellyroll Thanks this.

I decided I'm going to get a second opinion. That test is one done during the day to rule out narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnolence (sleepiness). I made a mistake going in on short notice just because the guy had some time. I had been up taking care of a sick kid who was in pain and couldn't sleep, so I probably acted tired (because I was). I should have said no, and made an appointment a few days out.
So I called the guy back and said as much, and told him I was going to start over & nice meeting you. I will have to probably do it out of pocket though, and there isn't anything in *there* at the moment. But that's the plan after I slept on it and realized, hey, I'm up at 4:30 am putting antibiotic drops in my kid's ear. I'm tired. Oh crap....
