It's why medicine is called a "practice."

...but I sure wished that they wouldn't practice on us!

At 5, I seriously felt like I was suffocating. I tossed the mask down, picked up my phone and called... "Oh, everyone feels that way at first. You get used to it."

My reply, "You're full of ####. People don't feel like they are suffocating, they feel claustrophobic. The feeling of suffocating comes from that. So let's try this again. ...I am unable to breathe at a low pressure. Bump it up or I'm sleeping without it tonight."

She told me how to bump it up... From phone calls up until now I would seriously hope they've realized not to spoon feed me bulls***. I'm the nicest person you'll ever meet and I'll meet you halfway on most stuff...until you start throwing bull at me.

I was just placed out of service for 3 days for not being compliant with my cpap machine.. This is after 3 days of not driving because truck was in shop..

Back in April I got really sick for a couple of weeks and did not use my machine. Since then I have used it everyday. Company didn't care and put me oos.. not cool

Yep. If you've got home time and the power goes out or vacation where there's no power (camping) or any legitimate reason they will put you oos.

Had the weekend off and the power was out for 3 days because a tree knocked out our power line on the street.

Perfect timing considering I'm already under the gun.

Oh, and I think they deactivate those modems remotely. Nothing has happened since its been plugged in and the data isn't even showing on the Phillips app for monitoring.

just recently found a way to monitor my sleep in the truck (wristband*). Not accurate but it does tell me two things so far...

    - there is little difference in disturbances with or without the machine. (Enough difference to be noticeable, however since the power was off and I always sleep with a fan going my sleep wasn't great anyways.)

    - the pattern of light and deep sleep is normal and follows the proper pattern for your average human. (45min-1.5hours light sleep followed by about 3 fours if deep sleep.). Doesn't matter if I use the mask or not.

If I ever collect enough data and can compile it I may post it up.

My understanding is its, "until you're proven compliant."

I was put oos for 3.5 days.. today is the second day. I team with my brother, so they are dispatching him solo while I have been banished to the sleeper.....

I have been compliant for the past two months., I asked my dbl to take into consideration the 3.5 days (July 3rd-7th) we had just spent in motel for truck being in shop into consideration, but they said no.

I believe it is more of a punishment than to "get compliant"

It is. The horrible thing is that you're not the only one getting punished...

100% right, I've got 3 kids at home that are going to feel it.. But as much as I don't agree with the punishment, I can't blame anyone but myself.

...I was thinking your brother.

And no, you seriously aren't to blame. Not even joking. Did yours come with an AC adapter? If not, you need to get sni to send you one ASAP.

Mine came with one, but I keep it at home. I'd be sol if I had to stay at a hotel for some reason.

Sleep apnea is a real thing, but sni needs to loosen the noose otherwise they'll lose a good many drivers. Good drivers too I imagine/hope.

I'm a big guy. I've tried to get to what's considered a healthy bmi. I felt horrid when I got down to 200. No energy, no umph when the fiancée needed it, and more that I shouldn't post up here for various reasons...lol

I felt best sitting right at 220. At that bmi sni would force me to continue use of the machine unless I tested completely negative.

Anyone with half a brain should know that bmi is in no way an accurate representation of health or how overweight or heavy a person is/should be.

(I'm not anywhere close to that at the moment, but slowly working my way to it again. I honestly had a high stress job before this, it took its toll.)
