I don't see a problem with an occasional drink either. However he got upset at the mere mention of healthy Eating. Implying that eating healthy somehow hinders one's ability to have a good time.
I get the Impression it'S much more than the occasional drink with him.
If he wants to drink every day, or occasionally I could care less. However for him to come on here and be nasty towards me for inquiring about eating healthy is uneccesarry.
I wouldn't go out of my way to put down his lifestyle. However if he wants to put me down for clean living then I will

I had a koolatron electric cooler, thing worked great. Also had a 3,000 watt inverter so I would bring my nutribullet with me. I was able to have all my veggies and fruits that way everyday (kale, broccoli, carrots, spinach etc) throw in some banana and pineapple and it tasted sweeter than any chocolate bar. Don't forget to drink lots of water

That's my whole point. He went out of his way to be nasty towards me for eating healthy. Saying that I don't have a life because I want to eat healthy is absurd.
I don't care what people do with their lives. However when someone wants to berate me for my choices, theirs are fair game.

I always eat healthy on the road. though I am home daily. I pack a cooler full of nothing but RAW veggies, spinach, kale, avocado, green pepper, cucumber, carrots, & about 5 other types, & 6-7 different type fruits. a gal of water, once in a while a peanut butter/banana sandwich. sometimes honey graham crackers for a snack.

OP that sounds like a good basic start. Next try to cut out the processed sweetners. I have tried several different ways to keep baby carrots but mine always slim up after a day also. So I just buy the big ones, they last several days without a cooler.

Honest critique; you're still eating a ton of sugar.

Dump the raisin bran and bunches of oats. I like the Kashi GoLean cereals or maybe get your Wheaties on if you need variety from the Cheerios. Oatmeal is the best option for breakfast imo. Borrow the truck stop microwave if you have too.

PBJ gotta go. If you aren't already, look for natural PB. No trans fats and lower cals.

Nuts! Raw unsalted nuts are excellent. Almonds, walnuts, pecans, pistachios, cashews etc. All are very good for you and a handful goes a long way. Easy to keep with a long shelf life.

Canned beans are good too. Canned beans have already been cooked so you can eat them straight from the can or add them to your salad. Navy, kidney, black, etc. good stuff. No not baked beans! shame on you!

An easy way to add more veggies is to buy hummus. Mmmm I do love me some hummus. You can buy celery, carrots, broccoli, etc and instead of a fatty ranch or similar, have them with hummus. mmm, I'm gonna have some hummus right now...

Speaking of salad and salad dressing. Instead of dumping dressing onto your salad, get it on the side. Dip your fork in the dressing and then dig in. You'll keep your cals low without forsaking the deliciousness of salad dressing. Oil based dressings like balsamic vinagrette are better than the rich creamy dressings.

I'm confused on this carrot thing. Are they developing some kind of slime coating or are they just wet? Carrots should keep several weeks in a cooler.

That's all I got for now.

The baby carrots get a slimy coating. I had never seen it prior to the last couple months. However, a Google search leads me to believe it's a common occurrence.

    Two words -moderation- & -exercise-

Using moderation, and sensible form of consistent exercise you can eat almost anything you want. This notion that if you eat ANY of this or that, you are doomed is ridiculous. It may not make weight loss any easier, but the idea you have to completely give up foods you used to enjoy is what drives most off of diets. They try and take them too far and listen to too many who think it's their way or the highway.

Do what works for you. Just realize you have to reduce some things and do some things, or it's all for nothing. For many, severely reducing soft-drinks and happy-hour at the bar will make all the difference.
