Those are the magic words I say when trying to get out of a truckstop at 3 in the morning. Say it about 5 times and next thing you know you're outG.Anthony Thanks this.

I like those restricted roads for "no trucks", except local deliveries, I end up on them when avoiding residential streets that my gps is suggesting, and I'm thinking, yes I am making a local delivery, somewhere around here, it just isn't on this road... Not that anyone has ever been able to give directions, I mean why would a trucking company know how to tell you where to find their customer, get real.
I prefer maps, but getting lost is usually much faster than charting, that's more of a hobby than a professional skill. Maps on the gps are not very good, when they require me to go on a detour of scrolling and zooming for 5 minutes to find a street name, oh but they'll pop up the name of any poi when you touch it (like I only need to find a buffet efficiently).
Back to my counterintelligence, I don't think anyone wants to make a "best" gps, because then they couldn't sell a new and improved version every year. I don't know, that's my experience with technology, it starts out promising, then gets shinier, and less useful. How do I counter that? Well, I made a nanaflator, and I'm not telling anyone what it is (other than another if you want something done right, do something else type deals).Last edited: Jul 11, 2015

I have the rand McNally and my wife has the Garmin for the car. I have the intellaroute 520 and it is very seldom wrong on roads unless you miss a turn, then it seems to forget the truck route and tries to turn you around on any street to get you back on course. It does still take into account low overpasses but that's all. Once in a while an address will be if by a block or so but I check it's route against Google satellite and street view so I know exactly where the place is and the layout before I ever start my trip. I use my atlas for bridge laws, to check for restricted roads and I plan a route with it and compare to the gps route and decide how I want to go. Mostly with my new job I have to follow the companies route but it to is a gps route and is usually the same as the route my gps gives me.
