yeah, if they are paying $750 to another truck thats a definite hell no thanks lol. match the rate or better and then its all good. im not familiar with the storage option. all the experiences i have ever had with receivers refusing freight is to negotiate the return or redelivery elsewhere and keep the truck moving.
Need a quick answer - back haul load refused

Well, went over brokers head to shipper. They paid $2000 plus added another $100 to the $150 detention pay we were getting for waiting on the load Friday night. Wasn't in a huge hurry to move truck since he was only 50 miles from my house. He could set his loaded trailer down and taken the spare trailer.

no, you will not be blacklisted. the broker was attempting to keep the rate down for their customer. nice job!

You get to name the price now, be reasonable but you should get more then your original rate, because of the inconvenience of you going back to Dallas, thereby limiting the ability to haul for your standard customer. I would say that asking for $500 to $750 above your standard rate is not unacceptable. Otherwise park the trailer in a secure area, rent a replacement, bill for storage at $500.00 per day, when they don't agree to pay, then the product is yours to sell and recoup your losses. That is the law, go check it out for yourself.
