1st thing you need to do is man up!!

2nd thing is to tighten the belt on your big boy pants!

3rd thing is to getter done!!

Don't be like these mamby pambies who Need an Apu which only works 50 percent of the time.

You gird up your loins and tAke your shirt off. Put on some zebra or leopard print bikini underwear. And roar like the lion you are for saving the boss man some cash!!

My boss and I have an agreement, if I can't idle for comfort, he's buying a motel. Since my truck is clean idle certified, I set the idle via cruise control at 700 rpms, after 10 minutes it goes into "clean idle mode" what ever that is, but it will idle until it runs out of fuel or I cancel it.

My Volvo does the same thing. From what I understand, the "clean idle mode" increases the EGR cycle, which lowers the NOX emissions but also adds more soot for the DPF to clean out.

I've been a Yuma resident for 20 years now. During August and into September it's pretty normal that the low temp, during the middle of the 'cool' of the night, will be around 95. A motel room, really good APU or idling are your choices. "Roughing it" not really practical around here. Of course, the last time we had freeze here and snow was before recorded time!!! So, heat in the winter time, not so much a worry or concern, a decent blanket will do the trick!

Maybe if the a/c would shut off at the terminal every time it shuts off in a truck they would let the truck idle 24 hours

Probably has something to do with the low ratio flange joint being set at 32 instead of 40. But could be the spark plugs on the brake chambers.

for those with auto shut off when u idle, set the trailer brakes, release the tractor brakes, and it should idle without shutting down. if you need to idle up a little higher and cruise wont work, cut an old broomstick and lodge between seat and accelerator pedal.
