I am a perfectionist. If I don't do something right, even if I've never tried it before, or seen anyone else do it, I ALWAYS commit suicide. I've killed myself so many time, that I have lost count!:p
Ho-kay, I just can't see beating yourself up over the small crap! Life has enough SERIOUS crap that you can beat yourself up over!
Learn to laugh at yourself, you'll be much happier, and less stressed out. This is a stressful job, so don't put more stress on yourself than you have to.
Doing local P&D, I'd bump maybe as many as 20-some docks a day. If I had trouble backing in and there was somebody watching, (which there always is if you don't do a good job the first time,) I'd just ask them if they liked my imitation of a snake.
If I bumped a dock a bit harder than normal, I'd just tell them I was making sure they were awake!:D

I don't need to be hard on myself. Every DOT and Highway patrol officer in the country has that covered for me. I love those guys.

You suck. Turn in your CDL immediately. How dare you tarnish the name of trucking with your pathetic performance.

Longarm, Vilhiem, Big Don and 2 others Thank this.

Honestly, don't ever get hard on yourself (ewwww! Pervert!). It's not an easy job all the time and we all have our off days. So what. It took a little bit. Don't feel bad. After 14 years out here, there's days I can't straight line back with millions of miles of room with airport lights showing the way. If you didn't hit anything, you still succeeded and that's all that counts.

    Longarm Thanks this.

Some days everything goes right. One shot a blindside alley dock with more crap around it than a church yard sale.

Some days I couldn't hit a wide open dock with a switch. Lol.

All part of the game, driver. Don't hit stuff and git-r done. :)

    Vilhiem and Dinomite Thank this.

Lmao!!! Sure it does!! What I meant to say is that I try to carry myself in a professional demeanor and not some fly by night who has no respect for himself or others. But thanks guys for the responses!! Made me feel a lot better.

Can anyone say anything good about a 3rd or 4th pull up?

Yup. A 5th if needed, with no objects struck.

Anyone laughing, is a hypocrite. We've all been there one time or another.
