    Supposedly the idea is to reduce driver fatigue, but I don't see how this is going to solve that problem as drivers will still be working the same hours.

    I think their idea on reducing driver fatigue is they know several drivers don't log all of their on duty time because it takes away from their driving time wich is the money making time if drivers were compensated for that 4 hours standing on the dock counting product you can bet they are gonna log it on duty to get their money

    Government shouldnt be involved its a free marketplace let companies decide.Even if they did go to paid by hour most wouldnt pay time in a half after 40 cause of the transportation industry being exempt so the drivers would be still getting screwed.
