Hello men and women truckers, I got two weeks left of schooling and can't be any happier. My plan is to go over the road and work my butt off and stay out as long as possible; I have no responsibilities here at home, I'm single with no kids, I have an awesome mother that I will take care of in the process " paying for landscaping and what not ". I ended up getting a respectful amount of pre-hires through a few companies, the one and only company that I want to work for is Melton. I can say the only thing I don't like is the $70 a day training pay for 21 days, but that's not a deal breaker for me. I'd like to hear from any current Melton drivers on how you like the company. I do know that you will always have people that complain about a company when they are the ones giving themself the shaft. Tell me about the terminals, down time you may have experienced and how long it took the company to fix the issue/s, what was training like, what should I expect my first year as a new driver for Melton, whats dispatch like?

when ever I would hear someone say what you did, it is those that want to quit and come home sooner than any others out there that are new. I wish you well, but frankly, I do not see you staying out as long as possible....

Well I am a company owner......between the two posts I would hire the first guy! I like his attitude.....and if I took care of him as an employee, I would expect his attitude to only get better with experience.

I do not have to know you, all I can say is I have heard that all before, and it's always the ones that say they can stay out long, or forever, are the ones that get home quick as they cannot put up with the inconveniences of the life on the roads.

and when he starts crying he wants to get home and you got freight to move, and no other drivers available, let me know how that worked out for you.

I like most of your posts, but take the super trucker hat off and give the young man here a break. When he shows up in "report a bad company" lighting up Melton in a couple months, then flame his ###.

I feel good about this guy, I can feel his can do it ness thru my iPhone.

    Dumdriver and HorseShoe Thank this.
