Best route from big island Virginia to Madison heights Virginia

    Hey guys wondering what the best route from Georgia Pacific in big island Virginia to Madison heights Virginia is?? I know you can't run route 501 to the east side..so what is the best way?? Thanks!!

    per Rand McNally MileMaker: US501 north to VA130 southeast to BUS29 south and you've arrived at your destination. I've never done it, don't know how well the route would be to drive. Good luck.

    Was told by the state police that route 130 is part of the parkway..so no go. He said it was safe to run 501 south out of big island to 29 and run the bypass to Madison heights.

    VA 130 is not part of Blue Ridge Parkway.

    Two legal ways to/from Big Island VA:

    1....2015 Rand McNally atlas says from Lynchburg take VA 130 to US 501 South to Georgia Pacific paper mill,

    or (this road is not yellow marked in atlas but posted as a good truck route in mill office):

    2....from mill short piece of US 501 North to VA 122 to Bedford

    I took both routes (first in, second out) of mill 4 years ago.Just be careful, skinny 2 lane roads.

    Ty Driver!! I went to big island today took 460 to 122. Didn't end up having to go to Madison heights. But in the future will use route 130. Ty again!!
