Financing 4 overhaul

    I was wondering if any drivers have used Cag Financial 4 repairs. My credit is not good so bank financing is out. I have 1.7 mil miles. I plan 2 get a dyno test next week, but I'm more than sure I will need 2 rebuild tranny n engine. 12.7 Detroit. Does anyone have an approx. figure on how much something like this will cost? Have u done this 2 ur truck? Thx 4 any response.

    My buddy did his engine on the cheap. He bought all the parts and just paid a local guy on his labor. The best rebuilds I've heard of are when just one guys rebuilds it, with the occasional help for lifting and extra hand holding. One guy from start to finish seems to be the better than multiple people picking up where the others left off.

    My buddy didn't pay anywhere close to $15k. I think he was somewhere around half that.

    You just have to shop around. The rebuild kits themselves are cheap, and you just need to find fair priced labor.

    On the financing.

    When I purchased my truck they setup my loan as a commercial line of credit I could draw against. Look at banks that could set that up for you. I did mine through Bank of the West in Wichita, KS.

    The mechanic ordered the kit. But I've seen them advertised in truck paper.
