If you consider the fact that just over 100 years ago we were trying to figure out how to get an airplane off of the ground for the first time and now today we are taking up close pictures of Jupiter, then you would possibly agree that technological advancement is quite remarkable. If I were a 25 year getting into this industry right now, I wouldn't be so sure that the need for full time human truck drivers would last for the next four decades until I'm ready to retire at 65.

Ummm...Mr Lepton, I don't think anyone explained the rules to you. You have graduated, and so are no longer allowed to participate in FearMonger gloom and doom discussions.

Maybe the long haul truck driver can be replaced (in time), but for us local delivery drivers freightliner is gonna need whole lot more technology before they can replace us.

I say this a lot, and I still think it holds true... I think eventually they will ship all long haul freight through the air with drones. Maybe not in my lifetime but I wouldn't count it out.
