2005 Columbia Detroit governor at 65MPH - How can I increase speed

Use DDCT ore DDDL software. To get the ECM password - call detroit hot line)!

 

A genuine Detroit Diesel shop like Williams or Clarke can set it up however you want in about 5mins, its all controlled in your ecm so they will hook it up to their computer.

 

Ryder should have gave you the password to begin with.

Ryder turned some up for us when my former company bought them.
No charge....takes all of 5 minutes.
Also some ECMs have two different horsepower programs that can be used.
They were put on the ECM when they come out of the factory.
If it is a Detroit it probably has a 435 and a 515 HP setting.

If it is a Ryder I would ask about disabling all the BS like progressive shift too,set the RPM where you want it and all.

They turned the one I had up and used the higher HP setting....what a different truck!
It got better mileage too.

 

Detroit Diesel, not Freightliner is the place to go. I paid $120 for unlocking the speed limit and set the correct size of tires.

 

Drive 55 and then you don't have to worry about it. And save 10000 a year!

 

Also depends on your ratios. With 370 rears your max speed will be about 72. With 355's you could max at 80 mph. Your highest MPG will be found around 1,400 RPM. Find out how fast your truck goes at 1400 RPM and have the Governor set there for high profitability.

 

Go back to Ryder they will do it for free. Like other said have all password and passcode removed. Can have shut down timer turn off
